Capital Area Workforce Development (CAWD) is a private-public partnership focusing on economic development through workforce excellence. It provides innovative solutions to match workforce skills with employer needs. It also offers resources to start and grow businesses.

Pathway to Entrepreneurship is a free business development program that works one-on-one with new or aspiring entrepreneurs in Wake County to help them refine their business ideas and create companies. This program minimizes barriers to business entry by providing entrepreneurs with informational resources, business connections, and expert advice.

The Challenge

CAWD went out to bid for the design and development of a new website that provides specific information and connections for entrepreneurs based on their industry, development stage, and business needs. The website would house available resources in the area and return the resources relevant to the site visitor based on their answers to questions. It would bridge Wake County’s Entrepreneurial Ecosystem by providing access to outside resources and local organizations, conveying information about the Pathway to Entrepreneurship program, and providing resources and business connections that can be viewed online or saved for future reference.

Strategy and Approach

MRN Web Designs took this client through our entire development process, starting with our kickoff meeting. From here, we designed and developed every page of their website with a modern design and high levels of interactive functionality. We worked closely with the client to create an intuitive interactive quiz that allows users to get tailored search results. We developed a navigation structure that provided ease of use for both the site visitor and the staff and made it easy for the client to add new resources and connections to the database.
